MCDS students Di Jin and Yuanchi Ning co-authored a paper, "Perseus: An Interactive Large-Scale Graph Mining and Visualization Tool," that was recently published in the Proceedings of the VLDB. Written with former CMU Ph.D. student Danai Koutra and Computer Science Professor Christos Faloutsos, the paper focuses on algorithms for very fast detection and visualization of anomaly in large datasets.
The Proceedings of the VLDB (PVLDB) is a scholarly journal for short and timely research papers with a journal-style reviewing and quality-assurance process. PVLDB is currently the top-ranked database publication venue with respect to publishing impact as ranked by Google Scholar.
